What the designation means

FDIS means Final Draft International Standard. Stage 50.00 means the final text is received or the draft is registered for formal approval. The approval ballot and publication follow. A draft is not the applicable standard, even at this late stage.

What the record shows

The ISO feed records the title, the committee ISO/TC 292, the ICS 03.100.01 and the stage date. The Genorma life cycle record shows the 2017 edition as previously published and the FDIS as in development. Two national records confirm the same stage and date.

What it covers

The public record gives the title but not the clause text. The 2017 edition covers principles, nine attributes and an evaluation approach. The second edition is titled Guidelines, which suggests a guidance document rather than a requirements standard, but this site does not infer the clause content from a title.

Why the adoption matters

The 2017 edition remains the published edition in force. The work on purpose, context, resources, disciplines and evaluation is the same work that a second edition will ask for. Starting now is not a gamble on the draft; it is work against the published edition.

Questions

Is it published?

No. It is registered for formal approval. Only the published second edition will replace the 2017 edition.

Can I cite it in a contract?

No. Cite ISO 22316:2017 until the second edition is published. A contract that cites a draft creates an ambiguous obligation.

What changes in the title?

The 2017 title is Principles and attributes. The second edition title is Guidelines. That is the recorded change; the clause content is not public.
